Priyanka Raval is a freelance journalist currently based in Bristol. She holds an MSc in Global Governance and Ethics from the University College London, specialising in Human Rights and Development. During her studies, Priyanka worked as an Advocacy Researcher at the Helen Bamber Foundation, working with asylum seekers who'd suffered human rights abuses. Her experience here motivated her to continue to work with refugees and use journalism to tell the human stories that lie behind political contexts.
After graduation, Priyanka spent time travelling around India and eventually settled in Mumbai working as a journalist for India Today. Her next assignment took her to Beirut where she was the Regional correspondent for The Daily Star, Lebanon's largest English-speaking newspaper.
Now back in her hometown Bristol, Priyanka writes for The Cable - an investigative journalism paper in Bristol and works as a contributor/illustrator for online platform Brush and Bow.
She is the Non-Executive director and Communications Lead for Trauma Awareness CIC.
